Eight Films is a distinguished film production company with a unique legacy, deeply rooted in the heart of London. Founded in 1998 by Sophia, Jane, and Amelia—three women united by a passion for storytelling and a vintage 1940s camera—the company has rapidly gained recognition for its innovative and diverse range of films. Specializing in capturing multiple perspectives, Eight Films has been a force to be reckoned with, showcasing its work at prestigious film festivals worldwide. When Eight Films approached us for a rebranding initiative, we were ecstatic to take on the endeavor.
Since its inception, Eight Films has seen exponential growth, evolving from a single period piece set in the 1940s to a full-fledged production house that explores the many angles of human experience. Our objective for Eight Films' rebranding was unequivocal: to honor the company's unique origins while also appealing to a broader, contemporary audience. We aimed to craft an identity that not only paid tribute to the 1940s camera that inspired its name but also stood as a bold and iconic emblem in its own right. Furthermore, we aspired to infuse elements that encapsulate the essence of storytelling through film, reflecting its multi-faceted and complex nature.
Our rebranding efforts sought to capture the spirit of Eight Films—a company that is both a beacon of innovation and a tribute to the classics. By marrying vintage aesthetics with modern sensibilities, we have created a brand identity that is as complex, multi-layered, and captivating as the films Eight Films produces.

"We at Eight Films had an
exceptional experience,
collaborating with Dame Studios for our recent rebranding initiative. From the initial consultation to the final delivery, Sarah demonstrated an unparalleled understanding of our unique legacy, rooted in the inspiration we draw from a vintage 1940s camera. Their creative team presented us with innovative design options that were both contemporary and true to our origins, each meticulously crafted to reflect the essence and multi-faceted nature of Eight Films. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the colour scheme echoing vintage film aesthetics to the typography balancing modernity with classic elegance. Throughout the project, their excellent communication made us feel like true collaborators rather than just clients. Sarah delivered a brand identity that not only honours our past but also sets the stage for an exciting future, making them the go-to agency for anyone seeking a blend of creativity, expertise, and deep understanding of brand heritage."
